I’ve known Dee Penny for approximately four years, as she has done much work for the PolyGram group of companies as a video and events producer.
I have worked closely with Dee on the annual PolyGram International Convention, a large scale event which is held in a different country every year. Delegates include the Presidents and Managing Directors of all PolyGram’s music and media companies worldwide, together with members of the PolyGram International Board of Management. Guests include invited experts, PolyGram artists and their managers from all around the world. For the last four years Dee has had the unenviable responsibility of putting this Convention together for me. An event on this scale is a Herculean labour, and Dee has proved herself a brilliant organiser, a major problem solver, and someone who can bring a cool and business-like head to bear whilst never losing her wonderful sense of humour. She has shown that she can co-ordinate the plans of nearly 200 senior executives from all over the world, not to mention some of PolyGram’s most renowned artists, with consumate ease and professionalism.
Over the years Dee has worked on many other projects for PolyGram, ranging from the production of Van Morrison’s promotional video for "Healing Game" to floor-managing PolyGram’s interim results presentation via satellite to New York and Amsterdam.
Dee has the rare ability to get on with everyone, whether it be PolyGram International’s President, PolyGram’s artist management, or staff at all levels in hotels in all corners of the world. Whatever the pressure, and it is often intense, Dee will get the job done with a smile on her face and in a totally professional manner. We all think very highly of her.
